Activiteiten in Sachsenhausen Monument
Het monument en museum voor Sachsenhausen (Gedenkstätte und Museum Sachsenhausen) is opgericht om de slachtoffers van het naziregime te herdenken. Van 1936 tot 1945 deed Sachsenhausen dienst als concentratiekamp. Hier zaten tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog ook veel politieke gevangenen vast, waaronder de oudste zoon van Joseph Stalin en de premier van Frankrijk.
Je zult de geschiedenis van dichtbij kunnen zien en getuige zijn van de plaats waar tienduizenden van de meer dan 200.000 gevangenen werden mishandeld en stierven.
In het museum kun je aan de hand van dertien kleinere permanente tentoonstellingen de verschillende aspecten van de geschiedenis van Sachsenhausen beter begrijpen.
Het monument is een plek van rouw en herdenking en een belangrijke getuigenis van de hedendaagse geschiedenis.
