London Eye (Ferris wheel) maailmanpyörä on nimetty George Ferris juniorin mukaan, joka rakensi ensimmäisen pyöränsä vuoden 1893 maailmannäyttelyyn Columbiaan. Messuilla on kuitenkin ollut puisia, vahvojen miesten pyörittämiä ”huvipyöriä” jo 1600-luvulta lähtien. Uskotaan, että ”Onnenpyörän” mytologinen idea voi olla lähtöisin tästä huvipyörästä.

“We went to this exhibition as a birthday treat and didn't really know what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at the exhibition. The virtual reality experience was great, you had a sense of being on the ship as it was sailing and going around the ship at the end was great!”
